Help with Arborstone
Greetings all,
Does anyone have any hints in how to complete the Arborstone Mission.
We have gotten up to the The Judge and down to the last 3 mobs including him but died a horrible death at that point (ok any death is horrible)
I have figured out that the center is the shortest route and maybe not the easiest cuz all the mobs in one place but still it goes by the fastest so the route that and after trying all 3 routes I think I prefer this one (is there a reason why I should go either of the other two routes? )
Is there a easier way to defeating the final mobs?
I had read that you should have a warrior tank the Boss in the final fight but that isn't a option since our group always uses a henchie warrior.
Is there a certain class that makes this mission easier/harder?
I am a elementalist so is there a elemental that would be better then the other?
Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided!

You just have to try and carefully pull a few of the enemies away and kill them so the group is thinned out when you start the real fight. I have been able to do this mission even with fighting through everyone at once, we had a MM though for some extra tanks.
Also, try going earth and bringing ward vs melee and put it down next to the boss when he starts attacking someone. Or air and using the one skill to blind the enemy and keep him blinded.

if you can, change to air, and bring blinding flash, that will surely reduce the boss effectiviness, also in my opinion, the left path is the easier (the one with the grass monsters) but you will face like 3 or 4 groups of onis.
when facing the judge, leave him for last, because once you kill him, more monsters will spawn.
try to kill the stonesoul, as he has some healing power, then take down the gale addicts.

And you can beat the mission faster if you kill him right away. If you're lucky, you can even get masters with henchmen (did it 2 days ago @18 minutes). Provided Danika stays as close to the door as possible, she won't get interrupted and the mission ends, even if almost everyone is dead (I was the only one left and had less than half health). This method is not for the faint of heart, though, since it is very risky... but I've almost always had it work.

make one warrior get on the last warrior boss while the rest kills off other poeple... probaly the reason u died is because the warrior boss was doing insane dmg to the casters becuase warriors were off attacking other things.
Also get good monks... make sure they have energy management skill like Mantra of Recall, Energy Drain, Word of Healing, and Offering of Blood... i can't say this enough DO NOT TAKE Mo/W and expect them to heal efficiently unless they are a Word of Healing healer.... in most cases when i form i try to avoid Mo/W....
go through the gardens its much easier... on the last stretch right before last boss a mob of oni will pop up in a a narrow staircase... while continous rocks will fall on you make sure u have viktors urn charged to lvl5 when u reach this point.... drop the urn when the rocks start falling to make it through...
if all else fails... try to get into a "masters" group... they usually know what they are doing... because most of them beat the mission already.

As an elementalist it is an incredible easy mission to take on, just master Earth Magic (16) and take Wards (against melee and against foes above all) and some nice damaging skill (classic combo knockdown/aftershock would work well), add maybe Silver Armor and don't forget Ress Signet. Never had such an easy time, and it was an all henches team. Ah, Ward of Stability will work well here to avoid interrupts!

*goes back to the day he tried this mission with his monk, after reaching the judge, everyone rushes in to kill him, the pillars break down spawning enemies, the judge dies instantly, danika starts taking heavy damage, he (me) runs to heal her, suddenly he starts taking a butload of damage, with his last dying bit of energy, casts a heal other on danika while half the team just died, and finally, with his dying breath he asks to his team:
WTF just happened here? and the cinema of the escape starts*
too risky for my taste

Here's my version.
Ripoff of AW Lore

I usually go down the center and try to leave the Stone Judge last. It's alot safer this way, but you do use more time.

lol Zelira.
the real problem there is the ele stone spawns. the fact that they gale you every time they can is very annoying.
a necro with enfeebling blood or faintheartedness (sp?) can reduce his effectiviness.

Oddly enough i leeroyed this entire mission with my warrior and got masters by at least 3 minutes without a single henchman dieing.
Its a good idea to try and find an ele willing to bring Ward of Stability/Elements or to bring Blinding Flash. keeping the Judge blinded while you work on the rest of the enemies is alot safer

Anyone have suggestions for a ritualist? I plan to take my girl through next, and have switched up to channeling and hopefully get some benefit from the elite Tranquil was.... suppose to increase armor and prevent interruption.
Its still not as fast as my aeromancer for getting lightening strikes off, but the damage is big. Ruptured soul is awesome for blind, but the spirits required would have a hard time being created after the ceiling starts to fall.. Destruction may be hard enough to get off the ground to fuel Essence strike and Gaze from beyond as it is.
Thoughts?

run a shelter union restoration ritual lord...
ritual lord is capped after luxon mission of gyala hatchery... im guessing you have not gone that far, since you have not specified ill give you the ideal ritual build...
Ritual Lord, Boon of Creation, Shelter, Union, Recuperation, Life, Feast of Souls, Flesh of my flesh or res signet...
this build I found to be the ideal build for all of factions...

Ritual Lord is overkill on anything less than Unwaking Waters and beyond.
Just go Restoration. Nothing wrong with more heals.
Also, keep an eye on your buff/debuff bar. If the "Cathedral Collapse" enviromental effect is on, MOVE, DAMN IT.

sektor: no I don't have ritual lord as this is my first time through arborstone with this toon. I'm not so concerned about masters as I am just getting through it.
zinger: I'll look into the restoration line, but my guildie that is a restoration rit going through about the same time was having serious issues with the ceiling.
Right now, I use well of blood for an aoe heal and the rest channeling. I was thinking of switching up to channeling with ele secondary to get blinding flash. I'll consider the restoration option though as you are very correct. You can never have too many heals in that mission.

I found the best way of defeating the Stone Rains and the Judge warrior boss at the end was to have a Mesmer. Don't underestimate them. You can use a Mesmer to hex the Stone Judge to cause health degen and interrupt the stone rains, since most of their spells are fairly slow to cast. A GOOD Mesmer is really quite effective, unfortunately, there are not many out there, but it can make your life easier...

Celestial, you are absolutely right. With fast casting and mantra of concentration, a good mesmer should be a major asset. If I ever get my girl over there, I hope other's agree.
Just an update, I did get my rit through using my "chan/well of" build and got masters with a very excellent group today. I wish all my pugs were like this one. She is finally to Cavalon now, but the rest of the trip wasn't as easy as that one. Next up, my W/E and hopefully then my Mesmer.
